Yet, As Expected, Disney Cruises and Seniors Is Not For Everyone
Many comments were about the cost of a Disney cruise vs the competition:
“Nope! I love the parks and go as often as I can but the cruise is expensive and family oriented. When I cruise I want an upscale ship with no children. Cruises are my adult, relax and travel vacation.”
“I’ve been on most mainline cruise lines. Just can’t bite the bullet to pay Disney prices. I watch sales, etc. still way over what I pay even for Celebrity. We’d like to go but every time we say , 4 nights on Disney or 10 on Celebrity (you can find some great deals). Just can’t pull the trigger.”
“I would love to go on a Disney cruise but other cruise lines cost so much less and I just can’t justify that cost difference in my head.”

Some Responses Specified They Do Adults Only Disney Cruises …. A Lot Of Them
Disney cruises and seniors can be a match even on an adults only cruise:
“2 childless seniors – our bucket list DCL on the Wonder 7 years ago was a surprise for my 65th birthday. Loved it! And never felt overwhelmed by kids. Thought maybe we didn’t need to spend the add’l $$ and did a Royal Caribbean next. Nope, nope, nope Royal, the dining room was just a restaurant: DCL 3 wonderfully themed dining rooms; Royal was beautiful, but lacked the fabulous Disney theming; Royal shows were good quality, but couldn’t compete with the Disney themed shows. And Royal, except at meals we had to buy cans of soda – and no free soft-serve .So since then we’ve done the Wish, 2 on the Fantasy (one over Halloween, a surprise for my 70th and have 3 cruises booked next year (including the Magic – just cuz we want to try it too, even though we live 90 minutes from Canaveral and its 4 hours to Lauderdale.) We’re hooked…..”

“We have been on 16 cruises with Disney and would not go on any other line again. We like the Experience you get with them we have been over 50 years old for most of them and childless for all but one when we took our granddaughter. We get a little extra pixie dusting because we have been on so many but we have never had better service on the other two lines we tried and they were not cheap lines either. Yes you may pay a little more but I personally will stick with Disney my only complaint is they need to change their itineraries. They need longer cruises which the seniors enjoy. But I do agree you need to be a Disney fan or you will think what is the big deal. But we enjoy them.”
And there you have it. The majority of the responses were very positive from the members of the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group. Typically on a question like this people will not answer if they have no experience with the subject matter. And, in my experience it is more common for people who have a bad experience to speak up.
If you are a senior who has been on a Disney cruise, let us know in the comments about your experiences and if you would go on another Disney cruise.
