The Morning of Departure is Here!
We needed to be in the lobby by 8 30 for a 9 A.M departure. The Disney Cruise Line representative was easy to spot and check-in was quick. She stayed with our group and walked us over to the Disney Cruise Line motor coach
There is a great benefit when you use the shuttle bus from your Walt Disney World resort. Your port arrival time is predetermined by Disney Cruise Line. It is very likely to be much earlier than what you would have been able to select when you check-in online. This is unless you have Platinum, Pearl or Concierge status with Disney Cruise Line.
On the Disney Cruise Line bus there was another Cast Member. This Case Member provided additional information on what to expect upon arrival at Port Canaveral.
Port Canaveral Arrival
After getting off the bus upon arrival at Port Canaveral, there was yet another Cast Member. This person guided us into the Disney Cruise Line building. From there you were directed to the appropriate line for checking in which is based on your Disney Cruise Line status as shown in the video below. The check-in process was easy provided you had your passport ready.
Once up the escalator in the Disney Cruise Line port building you have a large seating area with restrooms. It is the place to relax while you wait for your boarding group to be called. Dan and I waited about 30 minutes for our group to be called.
Once your boarding group is called you head across the walkway onto the ship. A cast member greets you, asks your name and then announces your arrival for all to hear as you enter the Grand Park and shed some tears.
