After Dinner Entertainment
After dinner the entertainment started up once again. Near the beginning we had a brief appearance by Mickey and Minnie, which was very cute. Other than their brief appearance, there were no Disney characters at all in the entertainment.
I was very surprised. Having gone on a Disney cruise previously, the nightly entertainment in the ship’s theatre was aimed at the young crowd. It was always a retelling of a Disney classic like the Little Mermaid, Aladdin and so on.
This was totally not that at all. It was very refreshing to experience from Disney.
Here, notice how the sails on the stage change color and design throughout the evening to blend in with the different performances. It was terrific!
The performers had some amazing outfits as they switched from one scene to the next in telling the story throughout the performance (I won’t spoil it all for you so I’ll keep a secret what story they were telling).
And yes, towards the end there was the spectacular performance with live flames as you see here with not one, not two but several participating. It really captured our attention.
Concluding Thoughts About the Luau at Aulani for Seniors
In conclusion, Nancy and I found the Luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa greatly exceeded our expectations from the food, the beverages, the entertainment, the Aloha spirit, everything. We both highly recommend you strongly consider it, including the additional charge for Preferred seating. And, remember, make your reservation as soon as the booking window opens for your vacation dates.
