Food, Drinks and Eating for Seniors to Enjoy Disney’s Aulani
And now, let’s focus our tips for the food and drinks.
#11 – Here at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa remember they have the Dole Whip desserts! They tasted better than any we have had at any Disney theme park or a Disney cruise…..especially if you have yours with the Pineapple juice option.
#12 – At any restaurant on property, if you do not like the table to which you are assigned, speak up. This was the table Nancy and I were initially assigned for the character breakfast. It was in a high traffic location. Before we even sat down we spoke up and were then escorted to a much better table with much less foot.

#13 – The character breakfast at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa is not, and is not targeted, just for children. Nancy and I had a wonderful experience. It is held in the Makahiki restaurant. Yes, the picture with the Boss was quite fun; very interactive and not rushed. There are plenty of photo opportunities with several other Disney characters during your breakfast. The food, was excellent. And there was even a lovely lady entertaining us. Here is the link to the video we have on our full Character Breakfast experience for you if you would like to see it right now.
Romantic Dining at Aulani

#14 – If you are going to have lunch or dinner at the Off the Hook restaurant at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, ask for the ‘romantic’ table. I did. And, this is the table that the Cast Member escorted us to. It had a wonderfully romantic view of the Pacific Ocean and the beach. Even our beverages did not spoil the view. It certainly helped us enjoy Disney’s Aulani on our adults getaway holiday.

#15 – For dinner, do try the ‘Olelo Room Restaurant. Yes, it has deliciously tasting food, no question. It is right next to the relaxing Koi pond. Your tables can be inside or outside such as Nancy and I had. What puts it over the top is the nightly entertainment. It was wonderful, with different performers each evening. Very relaxing, very romantic and less pricy than the Ama Ama restaurant at Aulani. Adults and seniors at Aulani; the ‘Olelo Room restaurant is for you. You can read more about our experiences at the ‘Olelo Room in this article titled A Special Dinner at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
The Luau is for Adults and Seniors to Enjoy Dinsney’s Aulani

#16 – Do experience the Luau at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Nancy and I have experienced other luaus before. This was the best. The entertainment, the food, the non-stop beverages, those with alcohol and those without. Everything was first rate; we will do it again on our next visit. It is for adults and seniors at Aulani.

#17 – For the Aulani luau, do pay the additional cost for preferred seating. It will, in our opinion from having done this ourselves, really help you enjoy Disney’s Aulani. I read that Cast Members assign tables and seating based on when you made your reservation. We were about the 30th in line to arrive for check-in yet we had what we thought were amongst the best seats. They were at the front of the table right by the stage. We could see everything right up front and even interact a little with the performers. This helped significantly to our amazing experience and I’m confident it will for you as well. Here is our review of this Luau for you.
3 More Tips for Adults and Seniors to Enjoy Disney’s Aulani
#18 – Take a stroll around Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa once the sun goes down; it is truly a tranquil experience, dare I say a Romantic experience. The way the different lights are used to accent the palm trees, …….. the pools, ….and so on is quite magical. You may even stumble upon Uncle, a master storyteller by the firepit next to the beach as we did.

#19 – We can’t leave without warning you about the combination bathtub and shower in our Disney Vacation Club studio. This is one aspect on how not to enjoy Disney’s Aulani. It was very slippery and, as you see, there are no grab bars to help you. So, just take things slowly. I’m told you can call guest services and ask for a bath matt.

#20 – Are you planning to leave Aulani the same day you are flying out of Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport? If you are, remember you do have free access to the Ko Olina lounge at the airport. Yes, you do have to make an advanced reservation. Yet, we were disappointed.
First, the directions on the web site or at the airport were not very helpful; we walked a little in circles to get there. Then while the very nice lady attendant would bring us water, we couldn’t bring any beverages or food. And, the environment is a little stale. It was very quiet, so if the airport is super busy that is nice. Yet for us it was a one and done.
