Disney For Seniors Menu

Have you ever wondered what is is like going to Disney World solo, and if if you would enjoy going to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida on your own?

Say you love Disney … Disney World, Disneyland, even Disney Cruises. Yet, none of your friends want to go and your kids are all grown up.

Disney World Solo

Recently, my wife Nancy attended an out of town baby shower and she suggested that I go on my own to one of my happy places … Walt Disney World.

This article provides a collection of my experiences of my solo Disney World trip.

You’ll learn about where I stayed and see the room tours for each of my four nights’ Disney accommodations on my Disney World solo trip …. yes, since it was just me I did in fact ‘resort hop’ so I stayed at a different Disney Deluxe resort each night.

You’ll experience with me throughout the four nights and 5 days each of the Disney theme parks at Walt Disney World …. Disney’s Magic Kingdom, twice ….. Disney’s EPCOT, twice ….. Disney’s Animal Kingdom, twice … and, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, once.

You will learn how I was able to get a table at the very, very popular Yak & Yeti restaurant, not once but twice …. with no prior reservation!

You will see each lunch or dinner I had (I typically only eat one large meal a day).

You’ll join me on most of the rides and attractions I experienced.

You’ll see the baby giraff and the baby tiger at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

You’ll experience with me the wonderful Easter Eggs at both Disney’s Beach Club Resort as well as Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

You’ll have a front row view to the fireworks of Luminous, the Story of Us at Disney’s EPCOT as well as seeing the view from one of the observation areas inside the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas Resort.

What is it like going to Walt Disney World on your own? Let’s find out through this series of videos I make and available on our Nancy and Dan Travel to Disney and Beyond YouTube channel for older adults and seniors.

Going to Disney World Solo – Dan 1

First up, after arriving at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas, I took the time to do a room tour of my Deluxe Resort View Studio. It so happened that I was assigned an accessible room.

As I came to learn on my adventures, not all accessible rooms are designed the same or have the same features at all the Disney Deluxe resorts at Walt Disney World.

For those interested, here is room tour video I made upon my arrival to help others who may have need of this type of room:

Then out I went to start my adventure! I walked the BoardWalk to Disney’s EPCOT.

Next, I travel the area of World Showcase from England to Germany, stoping many times to:

– see the colors of the International Flower and Garden Festival, including some gnomes

– find some quiet shaded spots to relax in World Showcase

– listen to the afternoon’s 80’s band called M-80’s

– dine at Le Chef’s De France

– watch and listen to Luninous: The Symphony of Us (there’s even a few clips of the show!), and

– walk along the BoardWalk at night.

Here then is the video of my afternoon and evening as a solo guest at Disney’s EPCOT, including some fireworks from a great viewing area I found that was not crowded at all!
