Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Pools – Similarities

Let’s start off looking at the similarities between the two swimming pools.
Both the Copper Creek Springs Pool and the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool are heated with free, also known as complementary, towels and lounge chairs and life vests.
As well, both pools have restrooms / bathrooms within the pool areas.
All Guests staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas and Cabins, and Boulder Ridge Villas can use either swimming pool.
And, both are open throughout the day and into the evening. More about that in just a minute.
Now, let’s look at the differences.
Copper Creek Springs Pool

Copper Creek Springs Pool, shown here, is typically the one with more children and more activities. It is located between the impressive resort water fall shown earlier and Bay Lake, also known as the courtyard area of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort.
This swimming pool is a favorite with children due to it’s 67 foot water slide, the younger children’s activity area, and with Disney Cast Member lead trivia games and dance parties.
Adults will enjoy the hot and cold whirlpool spas at the Copper Creek Springs Pool, as well as the proximity to the Roaring Fork quick service restaurant, although one does have to leave the pool area. There is no pool bar & grill within the pool area such at Leaping Horse Libations is at Disney’s BoardWalk’s Luna Park Pool.
The Copper Creek Springs Pool is open generally between 10 am and 10 pm, with extended hours during the summer with the warmer weather.
This swimming pool is where you will find the lifeguards. We have never seen a lifeguard at the Bolder Ridge Cove Pool.
Boulder Ridge Cove Pool

Speaking of which, the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool on the other hand is the more quiet of the two swimming pools here at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort.
There are no children’s play area … no water slide …. no Cast Members leading games for guests. This pool is more of an adult relaxing type of swimming pool and pool area.
It is located in the Boulder Ridge Villas area of the resort.
There is a zero-depth entry into the pool.
It generally opens from 7 am in the morning, earlier than the Copper Creek Springs Pool, until 11 pm at night, subject to change of course.

A big, big plus for the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool which Nancy and I really like are the complementary, that is to say, completely free on a first come first service basis, pool side cabanas. They are wonderful and provide full shade for those who do not want to struggle with an umbrella while lounging and relaxing poolside.
Another advantage of this, the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is that it is closer to the wonderful Geyser Point Bar and Grill with it’s wonderful menu of items. From time to time we have seen Cast Members working at the Geyser Point Bar and Grill come over to guests at the Boulder Ridge Cover pool to take and deliver food and drink orders.

As well, there is a refillable mug station also at the Geyser Point Bar and Grill which, while outside the fenced and gated area of the Boulder Ridge Cover Pool, is closer than the refillable mug stations located at the Roaring Fork quick service restaurant within Disney’s Wilderness Lodge resort.
It should be noted that anyone can use the refillable mug station at Geyser Point Bar and Grill…..with an applicable Disney refillable mug of course.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Pools – Conclusions
The Copper Creek Springs Pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a busier, noisier, more for young families and children’s style of pool.
By comparison, the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool, that many people ignore because it is on the ‘other side’ of the resort, is a quieter, more tranquil swimming pool for adults and seniors.
If you have stayed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, which of its two swimming pools, the Copper Creek Cove Pool or the Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is your favorite and why?
