Do you want to see the best Disneyland parades and shows? Disneyland is celebrating its 70th Anniversary. You see signs and banners just like these everywhere …. Even outside of the park entrance…..using the phrase Celebrate Happy.
There are 70th anniversary beverages and food items and merchandise everywhere.
There are also special shows and parades.

Hi, it’s Nancy and Dan Travel to Disney and Beyond, along with our good, good friends Mickey and Minne, obviously 🙂 .
Nancy and I spent 4 nights at Disneyland resort with two park days and nights at Disneyland park.
We thought it would be helpful to see highlights for some of our favorites for the best Disneyland parades and shows that you might want to take in yourself should you be going to Disneyland during the celebration.

There is a lot going on …. It is Disneyland after all.
These were our favorites. If you would prefer to watch the accompanying video to this article, you can use this link to the video on our YouTube channel showing the highlights of our favorites for the best Disneyland Parades and Shows.
Let’s begin.
Celebrate Happy Calvacade

First there is The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade. Yet I don’t see the floats that the Disneyland website says would be in it ….. yet Mickey and the gang are all dressed up in the 70th anniversary attire. Even the Dapper Dan’s (no relation 🙂 ) and the Disneyland Band joind in thye parade down Main Street USA.

The Celebrate Happy Calvacade presently has two performances; one at 1:30 pm and a second at 2:45 pm.
Perhaps this was simply the Disneyland Band which has several performances throughout the afternoon.

Regardless we came upon it already started part way down Main Street USA. The Disneyland Band sounded great.

And, above picture was from just part of their continued performance in front of the Disneyland Railroad the Station.
Best Disneyland Parade – Disney’s Paint The Night Electric Parade

The next of our favorites, in order of appearance, was the return of Disney’s Paint The Night Electric Parade. This runs from Just outside It’s a Small World down Mainstreet USA….and in reverse direction during the second performance. It starts at 8:50 pm with the second at 10:50 pm.
It is truly outstanding. Appearances of Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Lightning McQueen, certain Disney Princesses, Slinkydog (shown below) and the Disney Fab 5 group ending with Mickey Mouse on a huge float.

It does run about 20 minutes long.
We cannot recommend saving your spot and watching this enough. It took both Nancy and my breaths away. It is well worth lining up about 90 minutes prior.
If you want to see the complete parade, there is a link to the full parade video at the end of this article viewed from our experience just a few weeks ago in Disneyland at the best possible viewing area.
New of the Best Disneyland Parades or Shows – Tapestry of Happiness

Next up would be the special Tapestry of Happiness, a musical and projection entertainment displayed right on the outside of It’s a Small World. And, yes, it does tug at one’s heart strings. It really does.
The Tapestry of Happiness show times are scheduled for four times a night, first at 10:00 PM, then 10:15 PM,10:30 PM and finally the last at 11:45 PM.
It runs for about 5 minutes in length. In the video we show the entire show for you.
Best Disneyland Parades or Show – Fantasmic!
And, lastly, while not new at all for Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration, our last favorite of the best Dinseyland parades or show was Fantasmic! Which is scheduled for two times a night starting at 9:05 pm and 10:30 pm.
It is similar, but very different from the night time show of the same name at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, well worth seeing.

Nancy had us eat our lunch here as part of a dining package to be able to sit up close as you see here. There were a few different Disneyland restaurants that participated in this.
You are soooo much closer than most of the viewing areas at Disney’s Hollywood Studios over in Walt Disney World. We took advantage of a dining package to score viewing from this area you see here.
The floats are very different. It was a real treat for us, especially the pirate ship with Peter Pan and Captain Hook dueling things out as shown on the accompanying video linked at the beginning of this article.
The Complete Disney’s Paint The Night Electric Parade From Best Spot on Parade Route

Here for you now is the full viewing of Disney’s Paint The Night Parade from Disneyland. This hands down for us was the best Disneyland parades or shows This video explains why we chose the viewing spot we did, why it’s the best to watch the parade and then some. I could watch it again and again.
Finally, if you are looking for where to stay on your Walt Disney World or Disneyland holiday, here is a Our Ultimate Collection of Disney Room Tour videos we have compiled which should help, including some Disney Resorts at Disneyland.
