What we said last week during our tour of the Disney pools at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge we are going to say once again.
A good swimming pool, during pool season, can add to the enjoyment of the Disney vacation. A great pool experience can take an enjoyable Disney vacation to an exceptional one.
In this article we tour and examine all three swimming pools at another Magic Kingdom Disney resort, which happens to be one of the three so called monorail resorts at Walt Disney World.
If you would rather watch the video tour of these Disney pools rather than read about them, here is the link to our video tour of the 3 Disney Swimming Pools at Disney’s Poly!

Be sure to read this article in its entirety because the last swimming pool area we tour is one of the frequently forgotten or underrated pool experiences for older adults and seniors.
And that is a shame, because during pool season it is an excellent, excellent option for a relaxing experience on your holiday at Walt Disney World.
Similarities of the Disney Pools at Disney’s Poly

Let’s start off looking at the similarities between the three Disney pools at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
All three swimming pools, the Cove Pool, the Lava Pool and the Oasis Pool are heated with free, also known as complementary, towels and lounge chairs and life vests.
As well, the three swimming pools have restrooms / bathrooms at or near the pool areas.
All Guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, whether in a hotel guest room, a Disney Vacation Club studio or a Disney Vacation Club unit in the new Island Tower, have access to all three of these swimming pools.
All are open throughout the day and into the evening. Best to check on the Pool hours for the swimming pools at Disney’s Poly when you are there as they change from time to time.
Cove Pool at Disney’s Polyesian Villas * Bungalows

And, now, lets begin; let’s start with the newest swimming pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, one with it’s own children’s splash zone appropriately named Moana’s Voyage Splash Zone.
Yes, I’m talking about the Cove Pool area which was built by Disney when it constructed the Island Tower, that we see right here, at Disney’s Polynesian Villas and Bungalows.
If you want to see more about the Island Tower, you can click on this link which will take you to our video where we tour the inside of the new Disney Vacation Club’s Island Tower.
But, now, let’s tour the Cove Pool.
Three things stand out to me about the Cove Pool area. First, it is the zero-depth entry access at the one end of the pool making it easy to enter and exit.
The second are the really nice hot tub or whirlpool spas.

The third is the previously mentioned Moana’s Voyage Splash Zone.
There is also a view of the Seven Seas Lagoon, which can be an interesting spot to watch both the nightly Electric Water Pageant as well as the Fireworks from Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Yet, with the extensive Moana’s Voyage Splash Zone children’s play area, to me this is not where older adults and seniors wishing for peaceful and tranquil pool time experience would seek refuge from the busyness of the Disney theme parks and of the resort itself.
For me, this is a pool where young families with young children will want to spend some time, even if not staying at the Disney Vacation Club Island Tower.
The Lava Pool – One of 3 Disney Pools at Disney’s Poly

Next is the other pool area which is again very family friendly with an area for the tiny humans. The Lave Pool shown here shares some similarities with the newer Cove Pool.
The Lava Pool has a zero-depth entry at one end, …… and an extensive children’s play area.

From many areas of the Lava Pool area one can also see the nightly Electric Water Pageant and the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Yet, the Lave Pool does have differences from the Cove Pool.
The Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has the non-Moana Polynesian theming as we can see.
It has a long waterslide …… 142 feet in length ….. that is very popular.
And the Lava Pool has its own lounge and bar, called the Barefoot Pool Bar, located nearby offering various adult tropical beverages and numerous food items.
It is here at the Lava Pool where guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will find family friendly activities lead by Disney Cast Members, including pool games, relays, trivia and so on. Lot’s of family and kid fun at the Lava Pool
