Disney Parks – Limited Number of Lightning Lane Multi-Pass Reservations for Senior Park Admissions

Disney Parks Survey
Is LIghtning Lane Worth It at Disney’s Theme Parks?

Bill – Or a fast pass line for those of us over 65.

Cecilia – Give seniors 2 Lightning Lane reservations included (in cost of ticket each day)

  • Dan – I really like this one …. No special checking in the park for any one, not overly costly to Disney since limited to 2 per day, won’t increase Lightning Lane lines since limited, easy to check when tickets purchased re verification part of the My Disney Experience account, ….

Sally – senior lightening lane discount.

Sandra & Cheryl – Fast Passes / Lightning Lane for seniors

  • Brenda – Free lighting lane for over 70. We only have a few more trips in us and it is difficult to stand or walk. Let’s face it if we hadn’t turned our kids and their kids into Disney freaks who go to every thing and spend lots of money where would they be. We were there from the beginning staying from open to close carrying our little ones on our shoulders until our backs are shot and our end is drawing near. Give us a little break please

Disney Parks Survey – In Park Food, Beverages and Meals Related Requests

Disney Parks Survey - In Park Food

This next collection of suggestions to improve the experience of seniors in Disney Parks from our Disney Parks survey has to do with food, beverages and meals inside the parks … each one from the perspective of seniors themselves, in their own words.

Kimberley – Allow us to order food at quick service ala carte like we used to be able to do. We don’t always want all of that food.

Ruth – My suggestion would be to have smaller portion options at sit down restaurants. Smaller portions, slightly smaller price but more choices. Kids meals are limited in choices and don’t want the look if you order one of those meals.

  • Michele – Agree! The costly, all you can eat places are fun but for me the amount of the servings are way too much!! And, you are not allowed to take what you can’t eat with you so it goes to waste.
  • David – I agree there! I can buy a lot of groceries for the $280, without gratuity. How much can a 4 year old eat for $40?

Tessa – Senior menus with Senior portions would be fantastic. My hubby and myself always split meals because they are so big!

  • Joanne – I sometimes just get an appetizer or a kids meal

Sara – I like the 65+ discount on food and drinks no alcohol included. I don’t know if somethings would be geared to annual pass holders.

Teesie – Senior meals just like kids meals; older adults don’t all eat full meals anymore

  • Tandy – Senior size discounted foods. With more adult foods and sides than a kids meal. Similar to kids prices
  • Judi – Senior priced food for 65+

Self Serve In-Park Water Bottle Refill Stations

Self Serve Water Refill Stations

And, then there was this collection of suggestions from our 2nd annual Disney Parks survey which may or may not cost Disney money inside parks yet would assist with guest health and safety. Self serve water bottle refill stations would help Disney luvin’ seniors not have to feel anxious or intrusive by having to wait in line at a busy in Disney park restaurant just ot ask for some free water.

  • Christine – More water bottle fill up stations. In the heat hydration is vital!
  • Mary – More water bottle filling stations.
  • MaryLou – Water bottle filling stations throughout the parks would be nice as well.
  • Kathleen – water fill stations
  • Barbara Jo – more self-serve water stations would be great!

If Park guests, not just seniors, had easier access to free water in the parks, they would likely  stay in the parks longer and thus spend more money during their park day.

Disney Park Experience Cost Reduction for Seniors

Disney Park Admission
Disney Park Admission

For context … Disneyland and Walt Disney World theme parks do not offer any type of senior specific discounts on park admission. Yet, did you know that Disney parks at SHANGHAI and HONG KONG HAVE HUGE SENIOR DISCOUNT PARK ADMISSIONS!

If you would like to learn more about these discounts, here is a link to the detailed video comparison we did of park admission offerings in all 6 Disney resorts around the world.

If Disney at it’s Shanghai and Hong Kong theme park locations can offer seniors cost reduction for park admission, why do Disneyland and Walt Disney World in the USA not give as much respect to seniors? Josh? Bob? You are both seniors, right?

There were a lot of comments by seniors from our 1st and our 2nd annual Disney Parks survey on this topic. And why not, with many seniors on fixed incomes. Diane, Richard, Krista, Becky, David, Kim, Karen, Dan, Debbie, Duan, Teesie, Linda, Robin, Madeline, Linda again, Cookie, Cathy, Nancy, Sarah, and many more spoke out.

Here are just some of the comments received on this topic.

Diane – It is us “seniors” that spent our money and built the parks. It is time to take us into consideration and listen to our needs and desires! If you loose us, you will loose a lot since we brought our families and they are now your guests however they can’t afford you high costs

Richard – Making us spend money for rides we’ve already paid for is terrible, disrespectful, discriminatory and giving us the (… well, you know). You’ve proven you don’t care about us, you only want our money.

Krista – The price needs to be reduced. We are not the millennials that make the big bucks.

Becky – Another comment related to my previous remark about reduced ticket prices for seniors. My husband & I are DVC members and have never gone to the parks @ Christmas time. This year, we decided to do just that. Not thinking ticket prices are more expensive @ that time, we now find ourselves unable to pay $700/each for a four day pass just to watch the excitement of our gkids.

David – I think we deserve more then (sic) the crap of the reservation system and a few magnets for $1,600 a year per guest! 😠 Why does my 4 year old Grandson pay the same price we do? I personally think they want to get rid of the Passholders and go back to the multi-day passes.

Kim – Senior pricing would be great. And paper fast pass like before

Karen – Lower senior food pricing & Lower Senior Rates

Debbie – A GOOD senior discount across the board!! Most of us are on limited income and Disney puts a serious strain on us.

DJP – ideas to reduce the cost of park admission directly conflicts with reduce park capacity IMO

Daun – Senior ticket prices, senior meal options and more benches throughout all parks

Teesie & Linda – a senior discount

Robin  –  Lower prices all around.

  • Madeline – A senior discount would be nice
  • Linda – Need a senior discount so we can afford the most magical place…you are never too old for the magic! Even a little would help.

Cookie – My number one suggestion would be to offer a senior discount! At the very least, on admission tickets. A food discount would also be great. We have been spending good money on Disney trips for almost 50 years and a senior discount would be a nice token of appreciation to those who have been supporting Disney for so long!!

Cathy – Make the mobility scooters cheaper

Nancy – Senior DISCOUNTS

Sarah – Pricing for seniors. Could be the same as those under 10.

  • David – I am not sure about prices at the window but AP under 10 are the same price as mine. Go figure!

Carol – Senior pricing for admission and food. For seniors only. Not for entire party.

Sharon – Make it more affordable! We live on fixed incomes

Carol – Please add discounted prices for seniors 65+. We don’t have much time left and most of us live off SS which is poverty level. Please let us enjoy what years we have left so we can still enjoy the happiest place on earth in Disneyland. I don’t live in CA. So it’s extra money to fly too. I want to keep coming with my kids and grandkids once a year 😊 Please! We have been going for 20+ years but mom…me is getting old 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I still want to go every year.

Bettina – Discounted tickets

Beverly – More cost effective for people to take their grandchildren who aren’t wealthy

This now brings us to the one aspect from our Disney parks’ survey which is reducing the Disney park experience for seniors more, much more than any other mentioned in our survey of Disney luvin’ seniors ….. and inspite of Disney efforts it has not changed since our first annual Disney Parks survey one year ago.

What is it? It is the need for …
