Which is the favorite Disney World park as chosen by older adults and seniors? Does it matter?
You bet it does! It matters a lot.
Hi, it’s Dan from Nancy and Dan Travel To Disney and Beyond, and you bet it matters.
It is important because when deciding where to stay when on a Disney vacation at Walt Disney World, closeness to the Disney theme park or parks can be a very important criteria.

The resort where you choose to reside on your Disney vacation at Walt Disney World should be close to which ever Disney theme park or parks where you plan to spend most of your time. This will of course reduce how much time it will take to get from your resort to the theme park.
NOTE: This article is contained in a companion video which if you prefer you can watch here. It is called Disney Parks Ranked by Seniors.
Seniors’ Favorite Disney World Park – 2024
Back in September 2024, we asked members of the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group, then with around 10,000 members the following question:
- “Which of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World is your favorite to go to as a senior or a soon-to-be senior?”
These were the results of those Group members who participated in the September 2024 poll:

Clearly, Disney’s EPCOT is in first place with Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park coming in second. Will things change? What will seniors say about these parks in 2025?
Seniors’ Favorite Disney World Park – 2025

Now, fast forward about 9 months. Why 9 months? It is because the Disney for Seniors Facebook Community has grown exponentially (there’s my big boy word of the day!). Back in September of last year as mentioned we had approximately 10,000 members.
Today, in the same Disney for Seniors Facebook Group we have more than 9 times the number of members, with the current number of Disney luvin’ seniors in the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group reaching approximately 95,000 members.
So, we wanted to give all those new members who did not get the chance to participate in last year’s poll a chance to have their say.
So, a few weeks ago, we asked the now over 95,000 Disney luvin’ seniors who are members of the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group the same question, albeit worded a little differently:
- “When you are going to visit any of the 4 Disney World theme parks without any children or grand children, which is the best park to go to”
These were the results of the 2025 poll, approximtely 1 year later:

Comparing Seniors’ Favorite Disney World Park – 2025 vs 2024

Disney’s EPCOT was an even stronger choice for these Disney luvin’ seniors….going from 54% of the respondents in 2024 to 65% of Disney seniors in 2025.
Most of the gain came at the expense of those whose preferred Disney’s Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World which declined from 29% in 2024 down to 18% in 2025.
Those seniors, or seniors in training, whose preference was for Disney’s Animal Kingdom reduced a little from 14% back in 2024 to 11% this summer.
And, Disney’s Hollywood Studios continued to receive the least amount of love from Disney seniors, from 5% in 2024 to 6% in 2025.
This change could in some part be accounted for the major, multi-year construction project in the middle of what is now called World Celebration. This was only finished in June of 2024, and as we know, it included areas such as CommuniCore Hall …. and the Plaza where musical events are held frequently each day … and with numerous seating areas on both sides .
No doubt having the construction in the middle of EPCOT’s World Celebration area for a full year, and with it containing things of interest to older adults and seniors … that we see here … improved the experience of this huge demographic group of Walt Disney World guests.
Lack of Sufficient Seating in Disney’s EPCOT Impact

As but one example, this increase in seating area in EPCOT ‘s World Celebration area helped to address the number one complaint that seniors have with EPCOT, the lack of seating.
This poll, also conducted in the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group and also taken in September of 2024, asked “Which of these 4 Disney parks at Wald Disney World has the greatest need for more seating that will enhance a senior’s experience?”
The results of this poll clearly indicated that Disney’s EPCOT was in the greatest need of more guest seating. As can be seen here, 57% of those who participated in the poll said EPCOT was in the greatest need of more guest seating, more than 3 times as many of those who selected Disney’s Magic Kingdom which was selected second in need of more guest seating at 16%.

This construction project, which began in 2019, a year before COVID, took more than 5 years to complete with changing plans for the area.
Comments from Disney Seniors Themselves!
It is now done, more than 5 years in the making, and the increase in senior’s preference for EPCOT one year after its completion, certainly reflects this.
Let’s now look at the comments provided by those Disney luvin’ seniors who participated in the most current poll which asked for their favorite Walt Disney World theme park, starting with Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We start with those comments from seniors about Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the next page.
