Several months ago in the Disney for Seniors Facebook Group there was an interesting discussion on Disney for Seniors merchandise. It centered around how Disney does not sell any items with the word Seniors on it. It was, if you forgive me for saying so, as if Disney does not want to promote seniors amongst its parks and resorts guests.
A suggstion was made by many members, to Nancy and I, as the founders of the original Disney for Seniors online community. The suggestion was, since Disney does not want to have any of its apparel with the word Seniors, that we should create some simple designs for Disney for Seniors merchandise.
It was further suggested that we should use an online store and a few different ones were recommended to us.
My last trip to Walt Disney World was during Thanksgiving weekend 2024. I asked a Cast Member at the Creations Shop in EPCOT for anything promoting Seniors in the store. She gave me one of those looks. You know that look. The look of ‘Really? Don’t waste my time.’.
When I told her that I was serious, she told me that she could not remember when Disney had anything….a t-shirt, a hoddie, a coffee mug, a magnet, a tote bag …. anything with the word Seniors on it.
Disney for Seniors Merchandise and Apparel Was Born
So, Nancy and I went ahead, created some very simple designs for Disney luvin’ seniors and used one of the online stores recommended by members of the Facebook Group.
The online store is hosted at TeePublic. The name and the link to the online store is, simply, Disney for Seniors (why change a good thing, right? 🙂 )
Nancy and I went ahead and ordered some for ourselves so we could show members what some of the apparel and merchandise was like. You can watch that video immediately below if you are curious:
